TROOPER demand prompts KEG launch18th August 2015 10:36

trooper-keg2.pngRobinsons, the Cheshire based, independent family brewery are proud to announce the immediate availability of their record breaking Premium British Beer, TROOPER, in keg; the first ever keg ale to come out of Robinsons’ new Unicorn brew house.

This new liquid has been carefully brewed to meet the demands of the increasing number of premium venues who are not able serve cask ale but whose clientele are repeatedly asking for a taste of TROOPER.

The thirst for TROOPER shows no sign of abating and the range continues to expand, already including: cask, 500ml bottle, 330ml bottle, 500ml can (US market only), keg and a gift tube. In addition both TROOPER 666 and a 5L mini keg are in the pipeline for launches later this year.  TROOPER’s unprecedented growth has meant that beer sales, remarkably, have already smashed the 10 million pint barrier in just over 2 years and Robinsons are keen to keep up with the ever increasing demand and expand its growing market share.

Comments John Robinson, TROOPER Brand Manager: “TROOPER has been a firm favourite amongst beer and music fans since it first launched back in 2013 but not all venues are fortunate enough to have real ale on the bar.  We initially launched the 330ml bottled version to try and fill the gap but many venues still struggled with fridge space. Brewed to the same great recipe, we’re thrilled to now be able to bring TROOPER to the market as a Premium British keg ale. We will be targeting premium bars, music venues, ‘dive’ bars, live events and music festivals to start with.”

Robinson continues: “Not only is keg more user friendly, longer lasting and easier to keep than cask, but keg ale drinkers are now also demanding a more premium offering. It’s a perfect brand match for these venues and with TROOPER’s drinkability, we know it will go down a storm.”

Made using 100% natural ingredients including deep borehole water, Bobeck, Goldings and Cascade Hops, the finest English malt and top fermented ale yeast,  a style first used at the brewery back in 1920, TROOPER is brewed at 4.7% ABV in keg and dispensed with CO2.

After a successful launch at Ramblin’ Man Fair, where TROOPER keg featured as the Official Festival Ale, TROOPER keg has already gained a number of premium listings, including venues such as Mojo and MEATLiquor.

Comments Gary Turner, Managing Director, Ramblin’ Man Fair: “We could not have chosen a more perfect drink to be the official ale of Ramblin’ Man Fair than TROOPER.  The Ramblers originally asked us for it, absolutely loved it and drunk us dry. A few of the crew may have had a few after the show too! A big thanks to all at TROOPER for their support in this partnership.”

Comments Hayden Blakewell, Ops Director, MEATLiquor: "We're super stoked to be working with TROOPER as the fit is perfect with our offer. MEATLiquor has a pretty strict listing policy so when we found that TROOPER was available in KEG we felt that would help us deliver quality and service speed on this fantastic British beer. We feel it's our little secret but if you have a high volume business and need a great tasting beer with great provenance then the TROOPER KEG comes highly recommended!"
